In the fight back spirit of the Stonewall Riots of 1969, mobilize with the Audre Lorde Project on Saturday June 8th, at the Brooklyn Pride Twilight March! Join our resistance contingent with our movement allies, our community- as we take back the streets and joyfully resist the corporatization and policing of pride while building safety for our people!
Ya'll know what it is... The duty to love and protect each other is a priority for liberation work! Join ALP for a Community Security Training in preparation for our Trans Day Action 2019!
At this training you will learn skills to act as part of ALP's Self Determined Community Safety (community security) Team. This involves de-escalation tactics, how to mobilize against arrest, holding a perimeter, meeting community members' varying needs, intervening on inter-community violence, and more.

First aid is the initial intervention administered to a person suffering from a sudden illness, attack, or injury, before professional medical help is available. The purpose of this First Aid Workshop is to discuss and demonstrate emergency skills to preserve life, prevent worsening or deterioration of a situation, and to promote recovery. This workshop does not provide management of activist-specific injuries or scenes control and does not lead to First-Aid CPR certification.

As we continue to organize and fight for liberation from all the systems of oppressions that marginalizes us- there are 2 big questions that our communities have to work on: HOW DO WE ADDRESS VIOLENCE WITHIN OUR COMMUNITIES? HOW DO WE HOLD THOSE ACCOUNTABLE THAT HAVE CAUSED HARM WITHOUT PUNITIVE ACTION? Join us February 5th, 6:30pm at the Brooklyn ALP office- 85 South Oxford St, Basement floor- as we discuss Transformative Justice and we how we can collectively apply it effectively in our communities. Food and metrocards will be provided.
