Facilitation is a great way to hold space, ideas, and conversation among many different people. In this session of the OUTsiderz Series, we will be learning some ways to brew dialogue, and ways to engage folks on multi-sensory levels of participation.

The OUTsiderz: Interview Skills

When: 
Thursday, December 1, 2016 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm

This workshop will focus on the external atmospheres of repping yourself. Participants will be engaging in building a script, and practicing their personal pitch!
Although, the name of this workshop will be "Interview Skills", concepts learned here can be applicable to a large range of situations such as auditions, panels, public speaking and more!

Bed Stuy Resistance & Resilience Bike Tour

The Resistance and Resilience Bike Tour is a slow paced community bike tour of Bed Stuy and Crown Heights for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two Spirit, Transgender, and Gender Non-Conforming People of Color and our neighbors of color to:

*re/claim space and land*

*build a network of safe spaces--Black and POC owned small businesses, grassroots community organizations, cultural workers, and neighbors*

*share, map, and visit sites of resistance and resilience in Bed Stuy and Crown Heights*

*gather, move, love, and connect with LGBTSTGNC POC and our neighbors of color*

*tell the story of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two Spirit, Transgender, and Gender Non-Conforming people of color resistance and resilience in Bed Stuy and Crown Heights*

SOS is still working to finalize the route and stops, but last year we visited Von King Park, Hattie Carthan Herban Farm, The Meat Market, and the Brooklyn Movement Center. Will update with this year's route soon!

Trans Day of Remembrance 2016

Join TransJustice of the Audre Lorde Project as we lift up the lives of our comrades lost to violence, celebrate the resiliency of trans and gender non-conforming people of color, and come together as a community committed to struggling across differences for our shared liberation.

Come build community and remember those we have lost and celebrate our surviving communities resilience and brilliance!

The OUTsiderz: Interview Skills Part 1

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP SKILLS TRAINING SERIES

What do you want to organize OUTside the lines? Do you have an organizing project you are looking to build from the inside OUT, and need the skills to do it? We are here to cultivate your skills to build towards a dream project that you have wanted to bring to life.

This Leadership Development Series will support you by increasing your skills and developing your leadership within the realm of community organizing and social change work. This training will help you to better challenge the multiple oppressions faced by LGBTSTGNC People of Color communities. We are committed to training and building our community members so that we are all recognized as individuals with power who are collectively building movement. We want you to have more tools to build vision and transform our lives!
