In 2023, the Audre Lorde Project saw a year of restoration, solidarity, and struggle in our movements. Coming out of a strategic period of unwinding, ALP continues to blossom with our community as we started having in-person events, rejuvenating our membership, and continuing to imagine and practice liberation grounded in values of self-determination and coalition building across differences. In coalition with groups across NYC, we organized for justice for families impacted by police violence, increased our ability to keep each other and our communities safe, and collectively envisioned a new chapter for the Audre Lorde Project by moving into our Strategic Planning for the next three years. We continue to learn, experience joy, grieve, and continue forward till we are all free.
As we continue in our 30th year, we want to share a report with some of the highlights for 2023. We hope you’ll take a moment to read and celebrate the beautiful work our community created this past year. Our deep gratitude to all of our members, supporters, allies, and ALP Fam!
