2025 was not an easy year. A year when our communities—Black and Brown Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two Spirit, Trans, and Gender Non-Conforming people—were asked yet again to survive systems that were never built for us.
And still, we showed up.
At the Audre Lorde Project, 2025 reminded us that organizing is not just strategy—it is love in action. It is how we keep each other alive. It is how we refuse isolation. It is how we build the world we deserve. Our Annual Report reflects that shared commitment. It tells the story of what we built together—not as a list of accomplishments, but as a living record of resistance, care, and possibility.
As Audre Lorde taught us, “Without community, there is no liberation.”
This year proved that truth once more.
