We have an request for our Community & Comrades,
Our annual Trans Day of Remembrance is at 81 Christopher st at St. John's Lutheran Church on Monday, November 19th from 6-9pm. We are in need of volunteers for this year's TDOR 2018! Please come to support, and for healing, and transformation as we affirm that we will not be erased. We are most powerful when we are in community and there is no community as resilient as ours. Check out shifts below and how to sign up:
Shift 1: 2:00-3:00pm
Meet at the Audre Lorde Project Manhattan office (147 W. 24th Street, New York, NY, 10011) to load the U-Haul (This shift is in need of folks who are able & willing to do heavy lifting. There are an abundant number of ways to volunteer, so please check in with this accessibility note and sign up for the shifts that makes sense for you)
Shift 2: 3:00-5:00pm
To meet at 81 Christopher st at St. John's Lutheran Church. This will primarily be the setup shift. Includes unloading the U-Haul, set up the food, wellness and performance area.
Shift 3: 5:00-7:00PM
To meet at 81 Christopher st at St. John's Lutheran Church. This will be the runner, usher, and food serving shift. Also includes managing the welcoming table, supporting with supplies and materials, and maintaining the cleanliness of the space! **WE ARE ESPECIALLY LOOKING FOR TGNC POC USHERS!**
Shift 4: 7:00-9:00PM
To meet at 81 Christopher st at St. John's Lutheran Church. This will be the runner shift. Also includes managing the registration table, supporting with supplies and materials, traveling to the store to obtain supplies, and maintaining the cleanliness of the space!
Shift 5: 9:00-10:00pm
To meet 81 Christopher st at St. John's Lutheran Church. This will be the closing/cleanup shift. It includes breaking down the event, packing up, and loading the U-Haul.
Shift 6: 10:00pm-11:00pm
To meet at the ALP Manhattan Office, 147 W. 24th Streeet, 3rd Floor, NY, NY, 100111. Main task will be to help unload the items from the U-Haul and includes light cleaning of the Manhattan Office.
