Poetry Is Not A Luxury Showcase: A Pride celebration filled with poetry and musical performances in honor of one of Audre Lorde's greatest works.
Self-preservation is more than a wellness trend - it is survival, resistance, and reclamation.
Join healotry and The Audre Lorde Project for Self-Preservation as Political Warfare: Writing Toward Care as Resistance, an interactive poetry workshop grounded in the words of Audre Lorde:
"Caring for myself is not self-indulgence. It is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare."
Together, we will explore rest, boundaries, joy, and care as acts of resistance through reflection, discussion, and creative writing. Participants will leave with original writing, collective affirmation, and reminders that our healing is political too.
Come write, reflect, and affirm that caring for ourselves in a world that demands our exhaustion is a revolutionary act.
Refreshments will be provided!
The Response Team is a community-based care collective at Audre Lorde Project. Our work is rooted in mutual aid, peer-to-peer support, and abolitionist values.
