** This is an activist meeting for folks who identify as gender non-conforming people of color. This is a space for GNC folks across all identities and cultures to convene and discuss about what it would mean to build a movement around our identities. **

Some questions we will be discussing are:

++ Considering the academic appropriation of our identities ('gender dichotomy,' gender performance,' etc.) how do we find ways to express our genders in ways that are not classist?

++ What does solidarity between gender non-conforming people and transsexual people look like?

++ What are the experiences of gender non-conforming peoples with safety and security? Are our identities respected by the police, health care officials, and other social services?

++ What is the relationship between our gender identities and histories of racism, colonialism, and imperialism?

++ How do we incorporate gender non-conformity into our movement organizing?

In order to answer these questions and more folks will be encouraged to share the stories of their genders. Drawing from our personal experiences we will determine what we want to do with the space and how to move forward.
