Zami '10: A Community Cipher on Haiti, Hope, and Homeland

The Cipher Project in partnership with The Audre Lorde Project and Queer Black Cinema presents:

Zami '10: Haiti, Hope, and Homeland - a community forum focused on raising conversation about Haiti, its history, and current status post-earthquake. We invite all members of the community to come and take part in our cipher and make connections between what is happening in Haiti (and why) and what is happening their various "homelands," whether those be other countries, identities, bodies, etc.

This weekend long training is for: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two Spirit, Trans and Gender Non Conforming People of Color 

  • Examine race, class, gender, police violence, transphobia and homophobia, immigration and health;
  • Develop creative strategies for fighting oppression;
  • Learn how to plan campaigns & actions;
  • Build facilitation and leadership skills;
  • Share personal stories and learn about the journeys of others
  • Build both individual and collective power as a result of our training program!

Let's dare to make 2010 an even stronger year of resistance!

Reclaiming Our Health

A health fair for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two-Spirit, Trans and Gender Non Conforming(LGBTSTGNC) People of Color to gain knowledge and access to different community organizations that offer health services and resources specifically for our communities.
