Volunteer with the Audre Lorde Project for Pride

The Audre Lorde Project has started preparing for Pride celebrations and we are calling on you to join us for this busy season. This is a fabulous time to connect to other Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two-Spirit, Trans and Gender Non-Conforming people of color while recruiting new members and spreading the word about the Audre Lorde Project, Safe OUTside the System and TransJustice.


ALP’s First Membership Meeting, Saturday, June 5 from 1pm-3pm

Join our growing ALP Community to build power across identity and organize for Justice.  Food and Metrocards available. This meeting is open to all.

Brooklyn Pre-Pride Prep Party, Tuesday June 8th from 7pm – 10pm

What do Choreographed Chants, a Step Team, and glittered covered bodies have to do with safety? Everything. 

Yes yes yall for Brooklyn Pride we channel the most fabulous among ourselves and create chants, steps, and dances to highlight our work and honor those we’ve lost.  

Got a chant within you to share?  Wanna add your skills to the choreographers?  Ready to unleash the artist in you?

Copwatch at Manhattan Pride March, Sunday, June 27 from 1pm-6pm

Tired of police violence at Pride?  Can you spare a few hours to support your community?

Join the Pride Copwatch Team

In 2006 an ALP community member was unjustly arrested for leaving the Parade.  Since then ALP was worked with other community organizations to distribute Know Your Rights information and do Copwatch to prevent and intervene in police violence against our community.  Please email edixon@alp.org to sign up for the Copwatch Team.  No experience necessary just a commitment to do Copwatch on Sunday June 27th from 1 – 6pm and to attend a training the week before.
