challenging times and we need to support each other now more than ever before.
What are the committee’s doing on Tuesday?The Step Team is writing and choreographing chants to increase S.O.S.’s
membership, visibility,and community presence. The Community Education Committee is currently creating a curriculum
and trainings to educate community members about the connections
between homophobia, transphobia, violence, and oppression.
The Community Building Committee is working on creating events to grow the membership of the S.O.S. Collective.
The Safe Spaces Committee is recruiting more and increasing the visibility
of S.O.S. Safe Spaces in Brooklyn. A Safe Space is a school, business, organization,
church that agrees not to tolerate any anti-LGBTSTGNC violence or harassment on
their property and will support victims facing violence in the community.

We are a group of LGBTSTGNC people of color who live in or near Bed-Stuy. We believe in working together to strategize community-based solutions to end violence against our communities.
