We invite you to meet this current moment with us by joining Daring To Be Powerful, our organizing 101 training for queer and trans, Black, and people of color in New York City. In this training, we will provide participants with a foundation of organizing that they can build upon throughout their journey at ALP and within their communities at large. We will uncover what is needed for organizing, and give you tools and skills to be a part of building power with others, to seek and create the changes our communities need.
Day 1 Tuesday April 29th, 6:30pm - 8:30pm EST: Intro to Community organizing we will explore what is community organizing and we will travel through some BIPOC queer and trans history of organizing. Then we will delve into Power analysis using stories and our lived experiences and we will share tools for power mapping.
Day 2 Wednesday April 30th, 6:30pm - 8:30pm EST : We will look at some essentials needed for organizing such as base building and political education
Day 3 Saturday May 3rd, 3:00pm - 7:00pm EST: We will look at strategies and tactics by deconstructing campaigns and building campaigns together. We will then share a meal and celebrate our time together.
