The Resistance and Resilience Bike Tour is a slow paced community bike tour of Bed Stuy and Crown Heights for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two Spirit, Transgender, and Gender Non-Conforming People of Color and our neighbors of color to:

*re/claim space and land*

*build a network of safe spaces--Black and POC owned small businesses, grassroots community organizations, cultural workers, and neighbors*

*share, map, and visit sites of resistance and resilience in Bed Stuy and Crown Heights*

*gather, move, love, and connect with LGBTSTGNC POC and our neighbors of color*

*tell the story of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two Spirit, Transgender, and Gender Non-Conforming people of color resistance and resilience in Bed Stuy and Crown Heights*

SOS is still working to finalize the route and stops, but last year we visited Von King Park, Hattie Carthan Herban Farm, The Meat Market, and the Brooklyn Movement Center. Will update with this year's route soon!

Gather at ALP BK at 11am for coffee, juice, breakfast snacks, and water. We'll ride into Bed-Stuy together from there!

If you want to participate in the bike tour, but don't have a bike, you can borrow one! You can pick up the bike at the ALP Brooklyn office at 11am, day-of. Please visit http://bit.ly/biketourbikeborrow.

If you're white and have a bike and helmet a person of color can borrow for this bike tour, please visit http://bit.ly/biketourbikeloan. Or, if you're a person of color, and have a bike and helmet but can't make it to the bike tour, please consider loaning your bike to a person of color for the ride.

If you don't ride a bike, but would like to run or skate the route, join us! We'll have a contingent of skaters and runners!

If you want to be a part of the tour, but don't run, skate, or bike, we're working to time and map the route so that folks can take the bus or train to meet us at sites.

To participate, please RSVP to sos@alp.org, and let us know how many folks you're bringing and their preferred mode of transportation. Also, please let us know if you need to borrow bikes, and if so, how many.

This event is for LGBTSTGNC POC & our POC Allies.

We're so excited that so many folks can lend us bikes, and that so many folks can use them! Email us at sos@alp.org if you have a bike to lend or need a bike to borrow. Please let us know your height, so we can match you to a bike or your bike to a person.
